- โ Your bank details โ sort code and account number for the BACS payment.
Strongly recommended

- โ Service book / digital service record โ main-dealer history is worth ยฃ500+ on most cars.
- โ Receipts for major work โ cambelt change, clutch, new tyres, DPF replacement. Cambelt receipt alone is worth ยฃ500+ on many engines.
- โ All physical keys โ replacement keys cost ยฃ200โยฃ500 each from a main dealer.
- โ Locking wheel nut key โ without it, removing wheels means a ยฃ150 specialist job.
If there's outstanding finance
- โ Settlement letter from your finance company โ get this first; they have to provide one and it's free.
- โ If the settlement is more than the car's worth: have the shortfall ready to bank-transfer to the buyer.
If you're selling on behalf of someone who has died
- โ Death certificate (interim is OK).
- โ Grant of probate or Letters of Administration.
- โ Your ID as the executor or administrator.
- โ Estate bank details for payment.
Optional but useful
- โ Owner's manual / handbook
- โ Spare wheel / repair kit / tyre inflator
- โ Original sales invoice (if you have it)
- โ Insurance / tax history (rarely asked for but doesn't hurt)
